Sopi is adopted from the Dutch zoopje which means liquid alcohol and made from palm tree liquid which is processed through a distillation process. Nowadays many Sopi drinks are made with modern processes. The traditional drink is usually used in traditional events as a meaning of peace, by bringing a bottle of Sopi drink that is plugged with money.
